Revitalising the Cambridge Road Estate neighbourhood:
Building the Future Together

In early 2020, residents of the Cambridge Road Estate overwhelmingly voted in favour of regenerating their community. With a strong turnout of 86%, 73% of eligible residents backed the Council's plans to deliver new high-quality and sustainable homes that are environmentally friendly.

The Planning Committee granted planning approval for the regeneration in late 2021, and phase 1 of the programme began in late 2022.

The ambitious project will create 2,170 new homes, including 941 affordable ones, of which, originally, 767 were to be council-rented. In January 2024, Kingston Council announced, however, that the regeneration will now provide 871 new council homes once all 5 phases are complete.

Additionally, the project will provide residents with a community centre, green streets, and outdoor spaces to enjoy for generations.

We're thrilled to see the Cambridge Road Estate community coming together to help build a brighter future, and we invite you to learn more about this exciting development. Check out our website for more information on this innovative and sustainable project.

24 May 2023: Construction is underway on the first of over 2,000 new, sustainable homes as part of the major regeneration of the Cambridge Road Estate in Norbiton. The scheme will deliver safer, warmer, greener homes for residents and is Kingston's largest social housing programme in a generation.
