Building the Future Together

Residents of the Cambridge Road Estate have voted in favour of council plans to regenerate their neighbourhood.

In early 2020, estate residents voted in favour for the estate to be regenerated to deliver new high-quality, 'greener' homes that will take us into the future. On a turnout of 86%, 73% of eligible residents backed the plans.

In late 2021, the Planning Committee resolved to grant planning approval for the regeneration. More information is available here.

In October 2022, work will be starting on phase 1 of the ambitious programme. More information is available here.

The regeneration will provide 2,170 new high-quality sustainable homes, including 941 affordable homes, of which 767 will be council-rented, a community centre, green streets and outdoor spaces for the residents and communities to enjoy for generations.

Countryside Partnerships, our development partner, has won over 150 awards since 2016, including Large Housebuilder of the Year at the Housebuilder awards (2017), Best Residential Developer of the Year at the Building awards (2020), and the National Social Awards (2022).
